“Established in 1958 in Vicenza, Italy, by Luciano Patina. Guided by his unwavering commitment to quality, Luciano crafted exquisite shoes that captured the hearts of those who wore them.

As time went on, Luciano’s daughter inherited the legacy. Her vision was to expand the company’s reach beyond Italy’s borders, and she ventured across the globe, seeking new horizons. Her journey led her to the vibrant city of Fremantle in Western Australia. Establishing their flagship store in Fremantle, the family’s bespoke shoe company became a haven for shoe enthusiasts seeking the epitome of personalised luxury. Each shoe, meticulously handcrafted by the skilled artisans, was a testament to the family’s commitment to honouring tradition while embracing contemporary designs.

Today, the company continues to thrive. With a blend of time-honoured techniques and innovative creativity, they perpetuate their family’s legacy, creating bespoke footwear that embodies Italian craftsmanship and reflects the unique personality of each wearer.

Quality is the foremost consideration, and each shoe is made using only the finest materials. Patina has faith in their craft, and they guarantee it with a lifetime warranty.

Prenditi cura di loro e loro si prenderanno cura di te in cambio.
Take good care of them and they’ll take care of you in return,
as Luciano would say.”

Patina was a passion project in which I was able to combine some of my favourite areas of design in one project - packaging, branding and illustration. Having spent several years in the retail industry selling footwear for various brands, I wanted to experiment with shoebox design and build an entirely new brand.

Inspired by the streets of Italy and the beautiful balconies which adorn their historic buildings, I created illustrations using Procreate to mimic an oil painting. The illustrations are featured on their shoeboxes, for which I designed a custom die cut.
